The Walnut

There is a magical place called Primrose Valley Farm. A great Walnut, has been cut down and now awaits its next chapter

early morning road trip. three hour ride, coffee, good company, a mission to find the wood for the Ark for our new sanctuary

Beginning the journey. Starbucks first. Foggy and wet. Quite mystical, really.

Taking a road trip to Primrose Valley Farm to see the planks of a great Walnut. She will become the Ark in our new sanctuary.

A Message from Rabbi Kedar 12.2

This Tuesday I will be taking a ten hour road trip to Primrose Valley Farm in WI with Julie Rachman and Terri Argentar. It is a CSA farm owned and run by our members Jamie and David Baker. This farm is a special and magical place. There, on the farm, stood a great, old and exquisite Walnut Tree, that needed to be cut down. David has been drying it for sometime now and we, the road travelers, go on this pilgrimage of sorts to examine and discern the raw planks that will become the Ark in our new sanctuary. Follow our journey on Twitter @kkedar.

25th Anniversary Women of the Wall - update

Women of the WallOver the course of this week, many of you have seen the moving videos and pictures that have been posted on Facebook by members of our BJBE Women of the Wall delegation. These images capture their time in Jerusalem, especially their powerful experience at the Western Wall on Rosh Hodesh with hundreds of other women who came to support religious pluralism.

25th Anniversary Women of the Wall

Women of the Wall

It is with extreme pride and admiration that we honor Rabbi Karyn Kedar, Cantor Jennifer Frost and a large BJBE delegation as they embark on a mission to Israel to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Women of the Wall and support pluralism in Israel.

The BJBE community wishes them safe travels and much success in their mission!
