49 days, seven weeks between Passover and Shavuot

28th Day of the Omer
Everything passes. Moments pass. Moments of crisis and moments of calm all pass. Life is a flowing force of breath and energy, of desire and need, of hunger and pain, of peace and belonging. Like the wind, like the light of day, like the vision of a harvest moon, like the silence of a winter snow. Permanence is a thing that rises above what we see.
Everything passes; the good and the bad. With a few exceptions, the strength of your character, the nature of your relationships, and the depth of love in your life all linger in the air even as all other things pass by.
Rabbi Karyn D. Kedar
Baruch Ata Adonai Elo-hei-nu me-lech ha-olam a-sher ke-d-sha-nu b- mitz-vo-tav, v-tzi-va-nu al s-fi-rat ha-omer.
Praised be you Adonai our God who rules the Universe instilling within us the holiness of mitzvot by commanding us to count the Omer.
Today is the twenty-eighth day - four weeks of the Omer.
