Kehilat Shalom Committee
Caring for our Community
Kehilat Shalom is a group of dedicated volunteers willing to provide caring interactions with our BJBE community. In the cycle of life, we often find ourselves in situations where we could use the help and support of others. To complement the work of our clergy, and increase the ability of our community to respond to individual needs, we have established groups to try to address various emotional and physical requirements of our congregants. By caring for each other we have created a strong community network.
Jewish Job Network
BJBE supports the good work of the Jewish Job Network. If you are in need of a job or just looking for a new position, please download these forms and send them into the Jewish Job Network.

Kehilot Shalom Subcommittees
The Caring Committee
A a group of volunteers who reach out to help ease some of the needs of our congregants.
- Find rides for people who cannot drive to medical appointments or services at temple.
- Organize the delivery of some meals for those in trying circumstances.
- Visit home-bound people who need to see a friendly face.
- Make phone calls to check on a member who has been hospitalized, or to reach out to a family that has recently experienced a loss.
The Outreach Committee
A group within our congregation looking to investigate the role that Judaism plays in their lives. This group might include: a person of another faith, a person who recently became a Jew by choice, and interfaith couples raising Jewish families. The Outreach Committee of Kehilat Shalom also helps couples where both partners were born Jewish and are looking to expand their knowledge of Jewish traditions. At BJBE, we actively welcome the full diversity of Jews and their families to create an inclusive congregational community.
The BJBE Post Carpool Club
For mature adult members of BJBE whose children are past religious school age, and mature adults without children. Gatherings are planned by the members and held several times a year. Previous events have included speakers, theater productions, and music programs.
Support Groups
We can organize groups to provide support and appropriate information based upon particular needs and concerns.
