JWI Honors Rabbi Kedar as "A Woman to Watch"!
We are proud to announce that our very own Rabbi Karyn Kedar has been selected by Jewish Women International (JWI) as one of the 10 Women to Watch in 5765. JWI, founded in 1897 as B'nai B'rith Women, honors the concept of tikkun olam, repairing the world, through education, advocacy and action. Guided by a vision of a safe world for women and children, each of their anti-violence initiatives promotes the highest form of tzedakah by helping women and children become independent and help themselves.
Each Fall JWI sponsors Women to Watch, an annual celebration of exceptional women, who inspired by their Jewish values, contribute to contemporary life. Women to Watch honorees exemplify the spirit of self-determination, personal accomplishment and community advancement that Jewish women have held and nurtured since the time of Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah. These women are role models who inspire us through their achievements and through their decent and caring hearts. Since 1998 the Woman to Watch award has been bestowed upon 70 dynamic, and diverse Jewish women.
This year Rabbi Karyn Kedar is one of these 10 outstanding women. The 10 Women to Watch are profiled in the fall issue of Jewish Woman magazine and honored at an annual gala luncheon in Washington, DC. What an honor for her and an honor for BJBE!!!
