February 10, 2010
On Monday, February 8, Chicagoland Jewish High School (CJHS) welcomed its new neighbors, Congregation B'nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim (BJBE), with a special housewarming gift to foster their new relationship and to celebrate new beginnings. The school presented the synagogue with a handmade batik table cloth made by CJHS students and siblings Kailee and Eden Shraiberg, with the help of Marla Snyder, CJHS Photography and Studio Art Teacher. Titled “Breisheit” (Hebrew for “In the beginning”), the gift was accompanied with a personalized poem written by CJHS students Aliza Small and Jordan Shapiro.
