Community is our central value. We aspire to build a center for Jewish life, a place for laughter and joy, for meaningful conversation and friendship.

BJBE offers dynamic, innovative programming for our members and guests. We provide an active community to those who wish to make a difference, a caring community to those less fortunate, and a nurturing community to those seeking connection. This includes BJBE's award-winning Sisterhood, the Post-Carpool Club, and other programs and events.

From being warmly greeted by an usher as you enter Shabbat services, to the support of a community there for you after you have lost a loved one, BJBE is dedicated to enhancing the spiritual life of our congregation through a variety of prayer, programs, and services for all ages, knowledge-levels, and interests.

A Collection to Aid Israeli Soldiers

The BJBE Social Action / Social Justice committee and the BJBE Israel committee are partnering to support Chamal Ben Yehuda 86 in January. On a recent trip to Israel, BJBE congregant Doris Schyman connected with a woman named Pam Lazarus. Pam is originally from Chicago and her cousin Paul Zemel (z”l) was a member of BJBE.
