20 Elul

It is early morning and the sun catches drops of water on the threads of a spider's web. It really does glisten. The spider is not in sight, just morning dew which will soon disappear. I sit a while; it is as if the beauty was spun to capture me, my attention, my thoughts, my silence. I watch; I observe the rising sun, the burning dew, the web. And then, as if called by an indiscernible urge to move on to the next thing, I leave the web undisturbed. And as I do, I catch a glimpse of the spider, barely visible, hard at work, going in circles, spinning the web that is lovely, strong, and effective. No beginning, no end. A web.

It's like that sometimes.
